So, it has been since Thanksgiving that I updated anything. I've been really busy. The most exciting things for me recently have been that I got a 176 on my Math Praxis exam. I took the praxis at the beginning of November, and I found out my score at the end of November. My score qualified me for a recognition of excellence, and I got a certificate for it :) Getting a high score means that I'm smart enough to teach math :)
Also, I just got my student teaching assignment. I am going to be doing my student teaching at Pleasant Grove Jr. High School. I am a little disappointed because I requested to student teach at a High School, but I figure that being sent to a Jr. High is obviously what Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I anticipate either leaning that I hate teaching Jr. High, so I won't ever make the mistake of signing a contract as a Jr. High teacher, or I will learn that I love it and want to keep teaching Jr. High, which is an option I never would have thought of it I had student taught in a High School.
Daniel has been such a blessing recently. He has been doing all of the laundry, cooking and cleaning while I have been working and going to school. We're not sure what is going to happen next semester when I'm student teaching, and Daniel is in school full time and working.
Well, I think that catches you up on everything that has happened. Now let me tell you about how much fun I had last night!!
Cami, Katrina, Devin, Daniel and I all planned to get together last night at Temple Square. All day the weather kept threatening to snow, and Daniel said that if it did snow then we wouldn't be able to go up to Salt Lake. Well, it wasn't snowing when Cami came over at 6, so we headed up. When we got about half way there it started to snow, just flurries, so we weren't too worried. At Temple Square we had a good time walking around in the snow looking at the lights. It was really cold, so we went over to Kneaders for some hot chocolate and treats. By the time we were done with our snacks the snow had started to get heavier and we started to get nervous about driving home. Katrina and Devin offered us their spare bedroom and Cami their couch, and we were so grateful. It turned out to be really good that we didn't go back down to Provo that night, because even during the 10 minute drive to Katrina's house we were slipping and sliding, and even at one point Cami, Katrina, and I had to get out and push the car because it got stuck next to the sidewalk.
It was so fun getting to spend more time with Cami and Katrina! :) The next morning we left at 7 in the morning, but it was snowing the whole way back down to provo, so we had to drive slow. Daniel and I are in charge of the ward choir, and today was the ward Christmas program, so the ward choir was performing. We were going to meet at 830 before church to practice, but because we had to drive so slow we didn't even make it back to provo until 9. When we knew we wouldn't make it in time we called our amazing pianist and (obviously by inspiration) we had left a spare key at the apartment, so she could get in and get the choir music so that choir could practice. We made it to sacrament meeting only a few minutes before the choir performed. We were so blessed! And I am so glad that we made it :)
