Mom and Christie Visited!! :)

My mom and my sister, Christie, came to Utah to visit for a week. (I'm not writing this on my computer, so I don't have any pictures, all my pictures for this week are on Facebook).

Jun 27th (Wednesday):

My birthday was June 27th. We wanted to go to the Veteran's Memorial Water Park which is just a few blocks west of us. It's pretty much just a big pool and two water slides. We went last year and really liked it, so I wanted to go again for my birthday. That morning Kayla was bored and looking for something to do. So we invited her to come with us. It was really fun. Kayla did have plans for the evening, but they got canceled, so I called up my friend, David Frome, and we set up a double date for that night with Kayla. (I kind of sprung it on David and he is too nice to say no :p). When David got to our apartment he was so nice and brought me chocolate covered cinnamon bears for my birthday. We had birthday cake, played apples to apples rented "Smurfs" from redbox and got a dollar dinner from Wendy's. It was a great birthday date... but none of that was the best part of the night. My mom and sister had been planning to come to Utah for a couple of weeks, but they wouldn't be able to make it until the 28th because they had something going on at the beginning of the week so they couldn't leave WA until the 27th. Well those sneaky people! While we were watching Smurfs someone knocked on the door, so of course I got up to get it. I did kind of hope that it was another friend wishing me a happy birthday because Cami, Kellie and Melanie had already stopped by through out the day. Well, I opened the door, and it was my Mom and sister singing happy birthday! :) I was so happy to see them! It was by far the best part of my birthday, and the best surprise I've gotten probably since my 20th birthday when Daniel drove up from Utah to surprise me. Mom and Christie joined us to finish watching "Smurfs". After that Kayla and David left and I got to spend time with my mommy and sister :) We stayed up late talking and talking.

June 28th (Thursday):

Mom brought a couple of boxes of my stuff that I had left at the house because Daniel and I now have our own storage area at Jim's shop in Meadow. We spent a while in the afternoon going through my stuff. It was fun looking at all the memories. Around 4 we headed over to Manti to see the Mormon Miracle Pageant. I have never seen it before. They open the gates at 6 so people can save seats, which we did, then we went over to the church where they were selling dinner. They were serving hundreds of people at this dinner, and it still tasted amazing! The Pageant started at 930 I think. The pageant was wonderful! It was a combination story of the restoration of the gospel and stories from the Book of Mormon. I want to go see it again next year, I'm so glad we went. That night we slept out side on my Uncle Steven's yard (he lives in Manti).

June 29th (Friday):

At like 7 in the morning we came home from Manti, stopped my our apartment to shower and changed, and headed up to Draper to my Aunt Kate's house for brunch. It was a brunch for my mom's brothers and sisters, but she took us with her anyway. It was fun though because I haven't seen my aunts and uncles for a while, and my grandma was there also. After spending 3 hours at brunch we went shopping at Ross and I got a couple of cute shirts. Poor Daniel was so bored by the afternoon :p For dinner I made calzones and after that Mom Christie and I went shopping at JCP. I found two really cute skirts, and now have new clothes for church, which is what I really wanted.

June 30th (Saturday):

We had a BLT sandwhich picnic at the park and then went to the Veteran's Memorial Water Park. Mom wanted to take us to Seven Peaks, but we don't have a pass of all passes this year, so it would have been really expensive. The Veteran's Memorial Water Park is just down the road from us, really cheap, never crowded, and just as much fun as Seven Peaks :) I loved it. The park has two water slides and a pool to swim in. We went to this water park for my birthday and one of the slides was closed, so we were really happy to see that both slides were open this time. We had races down the slides and I could never win :p I love being in water! But I got a pretty bad sunburn.

July 1 (Sunday):

This week was the first week that our ward at church at 9 in the morning. Usually it's at 1230. We love the new time, and are especially grateful that it didn't switch to 230 like it was going to.

July 2 (Monday):

In the morning we hiked the Y. This was the first time that Daniel and I have hiked the Y together since we've been married (sad, I know). It was really fun hiking with Mom, Christie and Daniel. At the top we saw the MTC and waved to brother Daniel :) We ran the whole way down, and by the bottom my hips were hurting and my legs were jelly.

After the Y we got ready for the day, and mom and I took Christie to sign in for EFY. Yay! I was so excited to take her. I saw a friend and a classmate who where helping at the EFY check in. Christie was staying it the New Heritage dorms, and it was really cool to see them. After dropping off Christie mom and I went shopping at Ross, Deseret Book, Barns and Nobel, Target, the Bosch store, and Costco. By the time we were done shopping we were so hungry! We went home to get Daniel and Mom took us out to Olive Garden :) It was so nice of her :) In the evening I just stayed up and talked to my mom. I love talking to her.

July 3 (Tuesday):

I was pretty sad when Tuesday finally got here because it meant that I had to leave mom. Daniel had his 5 year class reunion that day, so around noon we drove down to Meadow. I was so sad to leave mom, it wasn't this hard since mom dropping me off at college my freshman year.

I love my mom and my sister and I was so so happy to have all that time with them. The next time I'll see them is at my graduation next year :)
