Ari was here! Now Fall is :)

Ari and her husband Josh got to fly over from Hawaii to go to General Conference last weekend. And while they were in Utah they stopped in Provo to visit friends, so Daniel and I got to join them at Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch the Friday before General Conference (I think that was September 30). We ended up staying there for 2 hours! We were talking so much, and really enjoyed spending time with them :)

For Conference Daniel and I went down to Meadow. Friday evening we went over to JD and Angela's house to watch the BYU football game. By some MIRACLE BYU was able to pull ahead of Utah State in the last 10 seconds of the game!

On Saturday and Sunday Daniel and I joined Jim and Merilyn (Daniel's parents) in their living room for General Conference. For those of you who don't know what General Conference is, let me explain. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints we believe that God still speaks to his children (all of us), and we believe he does so through his latter day prophets and apostles who have been called and set apart to lead our church. So twice a year the whole church, world wide, gathers together (through the internet and television- not physically) and we listen to the prophets and apostles in what is called General Conference :) On Saturday there are two- two hour sessions (10:00am- 12:00pm MST and 2:00pm- 4:00pm MST). Again on Sunday there are two- two hour sessions at the same times. It's a wonderful experience to be able to sit with family and friends, members and non members, and listen to these great men and women! You can find a whole video and written record of the talks from General Conference at http://lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2011/10?lang=eng

Now that Fall is here the air is cooling down, the leaves are changing, and I am reminded of the time that Daniel and I started dating (Nov. 3, 2009). Although it is cold, it is beautiful, and comforting, and pumpkin flavored everything is back in season, which is very exciting. Take time to enjoy this beautiful fall time :)

  1. Yay! I just posted about conference to on our married blog. Josh and I had so much fun talking to you guys thanks for taking the time to hang out with us. And to meet my Josh :) You were such a great last "single" room mate for me in Utah. I just wanted you to know that you and the other girls in our apartment were such great examples to me of what a daughter of God should be like. Miss you already :)
