Parent's Weekend! :)

This weekend was parents weekend, and my mom got to come visit :) My mom came with my brother's roommate's mom (roommate= Peter, roommate's mom= Mary).

Thursday night I worked till 10, and Daniel and I were supposed to go pick mom up at the airport at 1030, but her plane got in at 10! luckily Mom and Mary were able to get a ride to Provo from a friend that they found on the plane. They got to Provo by 1130.

Friday morning I had class from 8- 10, then took a test till noon. Brother Daniel took a test from about noon to 3, and husband Daniel took a test from about 4 to 7, so we figured our family dominated the testing center all day :p

When I got off my test I got to go on a tour of BYU's new media center with mom and Mary, and we got to go to the top of the SWKT, which is the tallest building in Provo. It was so cool to see a bird's eye view of the campus. After that we just laid in the grass until guess who happened to walk past us? Brother Daniel who had just finished his test :) We just spent time in the sun for a little while then hung out in Daniel's dorm room. We went to dinner at 7 at the Cannon Center with Peter and his mom, and husband Daniel joined us for dinner at 730 after his test was done. Thank you brother Daniel and Peter for treating us all to the Cannon Center! :) Then we came back to our apartment and watched some Psych :)

On Saturday we went to the parent's weekend tail gate party where we got free lunch and got to see Vocal Point perform :) Vocal Point is an all men's singing group that is doing great on the TV show "The Sing- off". Mom, Mary, Daniel and Peter went to the football game against Idaho State University, and Daniel and I went back to our apartment to watch the game online (we didn't want to spend money to go to the game). BYU dominated ISU 3- 56! After that my wonderful mother took us all out to Olive Garden to celebrate Mary's 50th birthday! She is so kind and generous, and I love my mom so much! Then we went back to our apartment for ice cream and more Psych.

On Sunday husband Daniel woke up feeling sick, so Daniel stayed home, and I went to church with my mom at my brother's freshman ward. This sweet girl named Liz gave the Relief Society lesson and she stressed the importance of being righteous and of being close to your family. It was a great lesson and made me love my family even more :)

After church we all went back to my apartment and Mary and Peter made linner (lunch/ dinner) for us. Then we headed up to Salt Lake to drop Mary off at a friends house, and we went to visit my Grandma Tate (my mom's mom). Daniel, Daniel and I stayed at Grandma's house for about an hour. We didn't want to stay too long because we had an hour long drive to get back home. I got a "three generations" picture with my grandma, my mom and me. I'll put it up when I get it from my mom. I have a few of these, but I like to take pictures every time I'm with my grandma. I want to have these memories in pictures :)

Now we're all safe and home. Mom is staying with Grandma. I love my family and am SO happy that my mom was able to come for parent's weekend. It is always a blessing being around family :)

  2. Is that Mary from the Bellevue South Stake? She lives in a ward in the Issaquah area?? I am guessing it is because we were in their ward when we first moved to the Seattle area and I remember playing with Peter as a kid. Mary also spoke at my baptism. I can't remember her last name though...but it looks like it is from the picture!
